Human Pressure: Is My Life a Solid or a Liquid?

Secrets from a Modern Mystic’s Diary: When Kabbala meets Physics
Human Pressure: Is my Life a Solid or a Liquid ?
Once upon a time there was a nice Jewish woman who gave up something precious for a man...and they were not even married.
Her name was Sarai (Sarah): His was Hoshea (Yehoshua).
Why didn’t her husband donate a part of his name? Why she?
Traditional Answer: Her insistence that Israel belong specifically to the Jew.
Why Yehoshua more than the other spies?
Traditional Answer: Prophecy of Eldad and Moded.
A deeper, mystical look:
A Hebrew name is a conduit to the unique energy and character of that person’s (object’s) soul.
Indeed, Sarai (as well as Abraham’s) names are analyzed.
Angels (and animals) have body and soul. They were created together.
Man’s body and soul were created separately. Only later were they brought together.
Angel: Soul and body are relatively close to one another.
Man: Soul and body are very distant from one another.
Angel: His soul naturally influences his body (Joshua: “Sun be silent” rather than “be still”). Not man.
Angel: His body which (like all bodies) is limited, naturally limits his soul. Not man.
Man: (At one point) his body (was) even less spiritual than an animal (which like the angel) always had a soul attached. His soul rooted higher than an angel’s.
Animal has no choice but to be an animal. An angel has no choice but to be an angel.
Man has choice: To follow his body and be less than an animal, or follow his soul and be greater than an angel.
But how do we compare to other human souls. Can we ever live up to the obligation of asking ourselves,
“When will my deeds match the deeds of the Patriarchs?”
Our life and its impact on this world can be measured in two ways: As a Solid or a Liquid
Solids:
1 inch x 1 x 1 1 inch x 1 x 10
10 inches x 10 x 10
same mass (10 high x half the mass Bottom surface 50 inches)
10 high x 10 surface
Net pressure = 0.1 lb. = 1 lb. = 100 lbs. = 100 lbs. = 50 lbs.
PSI (Per square inch) 1 lb. 2 lbs. 0.5 lb.
The net pressure a solid exerts is measured by mass (volume) x density. Shape is irrelevant.
When measuring the PSI, shape counts.
Liquids:
Net pressure = 0.1 lb. = 1 lb. = 100 lbs. = 50 lbs. = 100 lbs.
PSI (Per square inch) 1 lb. 1 lbs. 1 lb.
The net pressure a liquid exerts is measured by uninterrupted height x the size of the bottom surface. Shape is important, the mass is irrelevant.
When measuring the PSI, the pressure on every part of the bottom (indeed all sides) is the same.
(Examples: Squeeze a toothpaste container or a balloon.
Life is not a contiguous solid. It is fluid.
A Torah life, even more so.
Torah compared to water: (A) nurtures, (B) both remain unchanged during transmission (unlike other ideas).
Our spiritual life comes packaged in its very own container, a SOUL.
One value is constant by all souls: Its height.
All com e from same place (treasury of souls) and reach same place (earth).
Since all souls have the same height, our impact on earth is decided by one
Factor: our involvement with earth.
More involvement: more impact.
Limited resources/abilities/time only reduces net pressure, not PSI.
If your containrer is full, your PSI equals the greatest tzaddik.
Y\In other words, your deeds can attain the impact of the deeds of the
Patrirachs.
Our development of our more spiritual capacities is only to guarantee
that our “container” is full.
So, “If you give your all, it’s just as significant as anyone else’s all” is actually true.
Spies wanted disengagement from the world. They desired to develop the loftier aspects of their soul (container).
That may be tolerated for an individual, but not for Joshua, the next leader of the Jewish people (as prophesied).
That lesson and spiritual boost he received from Sarai.
Divine Cloud over her tent.
Shabbos candles illuminated the entire week.
Dough stayed fresh.
All unlike Abraham whose impact was more lofty.
